Service Overview
Micro incision cataract surgery (also called phacoemulsification, or phaco) is the standard way to remove a cloudy lens through an opening so small it seals on its own.
If reading has gone grey, headlights flare at night, or your glasses keep changing, that is usually the cataract — not a new pair of frames waiting to be found.
The cloudy lens is softened with gentle ultrasound and replaced with an IOL. Most people are in the theatre 15 to 20 minutes and leave the same day.
It will not treat a retina problem or glaucoma. Those are checked first. If another disease is limiting your sight, we will say so before a date is fixed.

Cost

The composite package is a single all-in figure for that eye. It covers the surgeon's fee, the intraocular lens itself, operation theatre and day-care charges, the pre-operative scans used to calculate your lens power, and your scheduled post-operative follow-up visits.
Costs outside the package are told to you upfront: the initial consultation, treatment for any separate eye condition found during examination, and the second eye, which is quoted as its own package.
Four things move the figure: the lens category you choose, whether you need astigmatism correction, the surgical technique used, and whether you are having one eye or both done.
How It Works
Only drops in most cases. You stay awake. You should not feel pain — some people feel light pressure.
About 2mm at the edge of the cornea. It does not need a stitch.
Ultrasound softens the cataract and it is drawn out cleanly.
Your IOL is folded through the same opening and opens into place.
A short check, an eye shield, a drop schedule, then home.

Bring earlier reports, your current glasses, and a list of eye drops or medicines. Tell us about diabetes, allergies, blood thinners, and any recent redness or injury.
Follow the plan you are given — observation, drops, or a procedure date. Avoid rubbing the eye. Call us the same day if pain, redness, or blurred vision gets worse instead of settling.
